GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Public Health officials are investigating a case of human plague in Southern Colorado.

The Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment says their finding are based on preliminary test results. Health officials say the plague can be transmitted by fleas and wild rodents. The plague can affect people and their pets.

Officials have not specified which specific form of the plague the case was.
