Eagles or Chiefs? Friends or family? Jason Kelce makes shocking ...

Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce — two years after losing to his brother, Travis, in Super Bowl LVII — is battling mixed emotions again: Does he root for the guys he battled alongside during his 13-year NFL career, or pull for his younger brother to make history with three consecutive championships?
Kelce, an ESPN analyst after retiring following last season, was asked by colleague Adam Schefter where his heart will be when Super Bowl LIX kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday in the Superdome in New Orleans. He seemed to indicate that he’ll be pulling for the Eagles.

“It’s going to be weird,” Kelce said on ESPN’s pregame show. “There’s a proverb I heard of that says, ‘Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.’
“I had a lot of shared experiences and battles with a lot of these guys in Philadelphia, and at the same time, I love my brother dearly. So in some way, I’m going to be extremely happy for one of these teams tonight and for some of these guys, and on the other side, I’m going to be absolutely devastated.
“So I don’t know,” he added. “There’s going to be a lot of highs and lows anyway. It’s going to be a bipolar night.”
The proverb suggests that the bonds forged through shared experiences can be stronger than those based solely on blood ties — which would indicate the older Kelce is pulling for his former team.
